Our heirloom ethos is rooted in the belief that fashion should not be disposable and that great quality garments can and should have a longer life. So with this in mind, we are adding a preloved collection to our range.
Second Hand Doesn't Mean Second Best
Its long been one of my top priorities when designing to create clothes that not only look good but perform well too, using the best quality natural fibres to ensure that these styles can be pulled out of the wardrobe again and again. Instead of clothes going into landfill we want to give you the opportunity buy preloved Faraway Gang pieces at a fraction of the cost of new. We have cast our expert eye over them to ensure they are all in great condition and made repairs if necessary. Each item is individually priced and stock is dependent on what comes back to us. For those of you that already own a Faraway Gang piece, please consider sending us your children's knitwear at our expense. All details of how to do this are below.
The Environmental Impact
The fashion industry is one of the largest polluters globally. The production of new clothes requires massive amounts of water, energy, and raw materials. Moreover, the chemicals used in textile manufacturing can pollute water sources, and the fast fashion model often leads to waste, with millions of tons of clothing ending up in landfills each year. We already purposely keep our range small but I've also wanted to introduce a preloved element to The Faraway Gang for a while now as lengthening the lifespan of clothing is an easy way of limiting our environmental impact. By purchasing second-hand, we are reducing the demand for new clothing production, which in turn does our little bit in reducing the industry's carbon footprint.
Enter Preloved Clothes—A Movement That We Can All Get On Board With
I've always loved hearing how many of you pass The Faraway Gang pieces down through your children, now you can send them back to us when you no longer need them (at our expense) and we will continue their journey into another family.
Whether you're an avid Vinted fan ( I am) or love the treasure hunt of a charity shop, buying preloved is a great way to refresh your family's wardrobe and do some good at the same time. Give the preloved route a go—you might just find your new favourite piece!
